Extension Care

products

  • invest in salon grade products that are ideal for extensions.
    • our biggest tip? avoid products that contain silicone, sulfates, protein, bond building & anything reparative or acidic. these ingredients can either over proteinize, coat, or dry out the extensions. products directly affect the lifespan of your hair extensions. (please reach out to us directly for any product recommendations)
  • moisture or hydration focused products are ideal for our full cuticle remy hair.
  • we suggest a clear colored oil. tinted or colored oils can discolor lighter extensions.

washing

  • make sure you are thoroughly scrubbing your scalp and getting in between each row.
  • soft water or shower head filters are recommended and do help with the longevity of your hair extensions & hair color/fading.

brushing

  • if freshly washed, we recommend a leave in conditioner on your ends.
  • start brushing at your ends with an extension safe brush & work your way up.
    • always avoid brushing the base of the weft because you don't want to catch the weft with the teeth of your brush.
    • we like to section our hair off by rows to make sure no matting happens between rows.

drying & styling

  • make sure to dry the base of your wefts fully and never sleep with wet hair.
  • use a heat protectant every time you style to avoid a thermal hair cut.
  • try to keep your tool's temperature below 350.
    • if your irons & dryers are too hot, they can damage your hair & strip your hair of toners causing a discoloration & unfortunately... brass.
  • sleeping in a braid or a loose ponytail on a silk pillowcase will help prevent tangling & make styling much more manageable in the morning.

swimming & sunscreen

  • chlorine & salt water are hard on all hair, extensions & real, so we suggest lathering your hair in conditioner prior to swimming to protect from discoloration & tangling.
  • wash your hair immediately after swimming but keep in mind that chlorine & salt water may discolor your hair extensions and cause irreversible damage.
  • while we want you to protect your beautiful skin from the sun, most sunscreens contain chemicals like oxybenzone or avobenzone that will discolor your hair extensions.
    • we suggest using a mineral based sunscreen.

move ups & maintenance

  • extension maintenance/ move ups should be scheduled every 6-8 weeks depending on your install method or hair growth.
  • make sure to schedule your regular maintenance appointments with your stylist to avoid matting within your growout.

Warranty

Intertwined Hair Extensions are covered under a 3 month warranty (from the date of purchase) for any defects that could’ve occurred during the production phase.  Requests made after the 3 month period will be rejected.  The hair must be returned to us for inspection. Split ends & color fading are not considered a factory defect. Fading is completely normal with minerals, heat, environmental elements, & water. Extensions are colored using textile dyes & maintenance on the color may need to occur as all hair colors do inevitably fade, extensions or not. To help maintain color, we suggest soft water, shower head filters, low heat, minimal sun exposure, & salon grade products.

Any products under the following conditions will void the warranty:

  • Any chemical treatments
  • Coloring, rooting, toning, lifting
  • Over-use of purple shampoo
  • Failure to use extension safe products
  • Ocean, Lake or Pool Exposure
  • Product alterations
  • Cutting the Hand Tied Wefts (causing them to unravel)

INTERTWINED HAIR EXTENSION CO. RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DECIDE IF WE WILL WARRANTY WORN HAIR.
