PRODUCTS

use salon-grade, extension-safe products

• avoid silicone, sulfates, protein, bond builders, and acidic/repair products—they can dry out or damage extensions

• hydration-focused products are best for longevity

• use clear oils only—tinted oils can discolor lighter shades

TONING & COLORING

do not lighten or bleach extensions—this will compromise the hair

• toning or depositing color is okay when done properly

• because our hair is textile dyed, it may absorb color differently

• always perform a test strand before applying color all over

• purple shampoo can be very drying and easily over-tone

• if needed, dilute with regular shampoo or opt for a quick purple bath

WASHING & BRUSHING

thoroughly cleanse your scalp and between each row

• a shower filter or soft water helps extend color and overall lifespan

• use a leave-in conditioner on ends after washing

• brush from ends up with an extension-safe brush

• avoid brushing directly at the weft

• section by rows to prevent tangling and matting

DRYING & STYLING

fully dry the base of your wefts—never sleep with wet hair

• always use heat protectant when styling

• keep tools under 350° to prevent damage and discoloration

• excessive heat can strip toner and cause brassiness

• sleep in a loose braid or ponytail on a silk pillowcase

• saunas, steam rooms, and heated workout classes can dry out extensions—apply heat protectant beforehand to help maintain hydration

SWIMMING & SUNSCREEN

apply conditioner before swimming to protect from dryness and tangling

• wash immediately after swimming

• chlorine and salt water can cause discoloration and damage

• use mineral sunscreen—chemical sunscreens can discolor extensions

MOVE-UPS & MAINTENANCE

• schedule move-ups every 6–8 weeks

• stay consistent with maintenance to prevent matting in your grow-out

The straight texture from Intertwined Hair Extensions are covered under a 3 month warranty (from the date of purchase) for any defects that could’ve occurred during the production phase.  Requests made after the 3 month period will be rejected.  The hair must be returned to us for inspection. Split ends & color fading are not considered a factory defect. Fading is completely normal with minerals, heat, environmental elements, & water. Extensions are colored using textile dyes & maintenance on the color may need to occur as all hair colors do inevitably fade, extensions or not. To help maintain color, we suggest soft water, shower head filters, low heat, minimal sun exposure, & salon grade products.

Any products under the following conditions will void the warranty:

  • Any chemical treatments
  • Normal color fading
  • Mixing our brand with other brands
  • Keratin bonds or tape ins slipping out
  • Coloring, rooting, toning, lifting
  • Over-use of purple shampoo
  • Failure to use extension safe products
  • Usage of products with coconut oil & argan oil
  • Ocean, Lake or Pool Exposure
  • Product alterations
  • Allergy to latex on the Intermix Weft
  • Cutting the Hand Tied Wefts (causing them to unravel)
